Finally I decided to choose this laptop: a Hewlett-Packard. One of my friend, who is very fanatic with HP, succeeded to influence me to buy this laptop. I can say good-bye to my Acer Aspire bla-bla-bla now and my second son, Atidy, has smiled widely to continue using that laptop.
I remember that I chose a 486dx Toshiba for my first laptop. It was long long time ago and the screen was still in black-white. The price was, as long as I can remember, around $ 2.000. Yes, two thausands dollar for a 486DX and blackwhite screen laptop. Since the kurs at that time was around Rp 2.300 for $1, the price was Rp 4.600.000. It was a lot of money at that time. And I bought it without using even 1 cent from my wallet. How could it be?
The story was like this:
My wife worked in a certain office and one of her responsibilities was preparing a financial report. It was a confidential one that her boss did not allow her to make it at the office. So she had to do it at home, using my desktop computer. I told her that it was funny making a financial report with so many zero’s and she had to borrow a pc from me.
“What should I do?”, she asked. I directly answered: “Ask your boss to permit you to buy a laptop so that you can easily use it at home or at the office.”
She told her boss our conversation and the boss, who happened to be my friend in ORARI, agreed. Then a laptop, a very luxurious gadget at that time, was “sitting” sweetly on my desk.
Then I bought a MITAC, a Dell, an Acer, and finally this one: an HP.
